USI Insurance Services

Global Insurance Firm Committed to Cultural Transformation.

Challenge

USI Insurance Services, a multinational insurance firm with over 10,000 employees, faced a challenging workplace culture in its Pacific Northwest Region. Key issues included communication silos between sales and operations teams, concerns over gender pay equity, high turnover rates, and dissatisfaction with hierarchical leadership structures.

Interventions

CLA partnered with USI to conduct a comprehensive cultural transformation initiative, including:

  • Diagnostic Assessments: Interviews and surveys uncovered the root causes of cultural challenges, including functional silos and disparities in gender representation and pay.
  • Leadership Workshops: Episodic sessions presented findings and built clarity around behaviors needed to address cultural concerns.
  • Adaptive Leadership Tools: Training emphasized leading in a change environment, the productive zone of disequilibrium, and bridging communication gaps.

Impact

USI leaders developed a clear understanding of the cultural challenges and their implications, fostering behavior changes to promote inclusivity and collaboration. CLA’s ongoing partnership continues to address these challenges through follow-up workshops, coaching, and cross-functional initiatives, driving progress toward a healthier workplace culture.
